About Served Wire
I'm Pete Campbell — I've been a process server in California for years, and I'm currently in law school. I built this site because I got tired of reading generic "legal tech" content written by people who have never served a single paper.
Process servers, paralegals, and solo attorneys don't need think-pieces about AI disrupting BigLaw. They need to know which $15 app actually burns GPS coordinates into a photo so they're AB 747 compliant. They need to know which skip tracing database is actually worth the subscription fee. They need practical answers, not hype.
That's what Served Wire is. A weekly newsletter and article archive covering the tools, compliance updates, and industry news that matter to people who actually work in the legal field — not just write about it.
What I cover
- AB 747 / GPS compliance — California's GPS photo mandate takes effect January 1, 2027. I'm watching every update.
- AI tools — practical reviews of tools that save real time, not just impressive demos.
- Skip tracing — the databases and techniques I actually use.
- Software reviews — process serving apps, case management, e-filing — honest takes.
- Business — growing and running a process serving operation.
